One such festive favorite is Mutton Keema Masala – a spicy, aromatic minced meat curry simmered in traditional Indian spices. Ingredients

For the Masala:

  • 500 g mutton keema minced mutton
  • 2 medium onions finely chopped
  • 1 medium tomato finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 green chilies slit
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp kasuri methi dried fenugreek
  • 2 tbsp fresh coriander chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

For Cooking:

  • 3 tbsp oil or ghee
  • ½ cup water as needed

Instructions

🔸 Step 1: Prepare the Base

  • Heat oil/ghee in a deep pan.
  • Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  • Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Cook until raw smell goes away.

🔸 Step 2: Add Spices & Tomatoes

  • Add turmeric, red chili, coriander, and cumin powders.
  • Mix well and add chopped tomatoes. Cook until soft and oil separates.

🔸 Step 3: Cook the Keema

  • Add mutton keema. Mix thoroughly with the masala.
  • Sauté on medium-high heat until keema changes color and moisture starts to reduce.
  • Add salt and ½ cup water. Cover and simmer on low for 20–25 minutes.

🔸 Step 4: Finish the Dish

  • Uncover and cook on high for 5 minutes to thicken the masala.
  • Sprinkle garam masala, kasuri methi, lemon juice, and chopped coriander.
  • Mix and turn off the heat. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

  • Serve hot with buttery pav, naan, or steamed basmati rice.
  • Add a fried egg on top for a Keema-Egg combo.
  • Garnish with raw onion rings and a lemon wedge.
