Ingredients
For the Masala:
- 500 g mutton keema minced mutton
- 2 medium onions finely chopped
- 1 medium tomato finely chopped
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2 green chilies slit
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1½ tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1½ tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp kasuri methi dried fenugreek
- 2 tbsp fresh coriander chopped
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
For Cooking:
- 3 tbsp oil or ghee
- ½ cup water as needed
Instructions
🔸 Step 1: Prepare the Base
- Heat oil/ghee in a deep pan.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Cook until raw smell goes away.
🔸 Step 2: Add Spices & Tomatoes
- Add turmeric, red chili, coriander, and cumin powders.
- Mix well and add chopped tomatoes. Cook until soft and oil separates.
🔸 Step 3: Cook the Keema
- Add mutton keema. Mix thoroughly with the masala.
- Sauté on medium-high heat until keema changes color and moisture starts to reduce.
- Add salt and ½ cup water. Cover and simmer on low for 20–25 minutes.
🔸 Step 4: Finish the Dish
- Uncover and cook on high for 5 minutes to thicken the masala.
- Sprinkle garam masala, kasuri methi, lemon juice, and chopped coriander.
- Mix and turn off the heat. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

- Serve hot with buttery pav, naan, or steamed basmati rice.
- Add a fried egg on top for a Keema-Egg combo.
- Garnish with raw onion rings and a lemon wedge.
